PREMA Racing kicks off Formula 4 season at Spa-Francorchamps

R01 - Spa-Francorchamps - ADAC F4 Race Preview

PREMA Racing will put its Formula 4 operation back in motion this weekend by lining up its five full-season drivers in the opening round of the ADAC Formula 4 Championship.

The famous Belgian Grand Prix venue will provide the drivers with a great chance for the series' young drivers as it is one of the most challenging and trying ones in motorsport. In addition, they will be able to test its revamped configuration, which features safety upgrades even at the famed Eau Rouge.

Coming from his successful F4 UAE run, Charlie Wurz is set for his first full European season. The 15-year-old Austrian is looking to capitalize on his great 2022 results so far. He will be joined by a host of highly-determined teammates like Australian James Wharton. The 15-year-old, a Ferrari Driver Academy member, is coming from go-kart racing but already found winning ways in the Emirates.

On the other hand, Conrad Laursen will be returning for his second campaign. The 16-year-old Dane took part in a limited UAE schedule, claiming three podiums. He will try to make the most out of his experience during the regular season.

Completing the team, two more 15-year-old rookies coming from the ranks of Formula 1 manufacturer programs. Andrea Kimi Antonelli made an outstanding debut last year, claiming rookie wins and overall podiums in his three-race program, and got two wins this winter at Yas Marina.

Last but not least, karting sensation Rafael Camara will brace for his first European season, after also achieving multiple wins earlier this season. Like Wharton, the 15-year-old Brazilian is part of the Ferrari Driver Academy.

Angelo Rosin - Team Principal

"It is great to be back on track with our Formula 4 program and our youngest drivers. It will be an exciting and decisive season for them, and we look forward to working together as a team. They are all extremely talented, and we expect them to be highly competitive. I think having started preparations early with the races we entered in the United Arab Emirates will turn out to be positive for the season ahead, but we can never afford to stop working as we are aware of how determined our competitors are."
