R05 - Monaco - FIA Formula 2 Race Preview

PREMA Racing back to legendary Monte Carlo Grand Prix

R05 - Monaco - FIA Formula 2 Race Preview

The traditional Monaco Grand Prix will be back for its 2022 edition this weekend and PREMA Racing will line-up its two-car FIA Formula 2 Championship effort for a much-anticipated occasion. The team is coming from a tough break on Spanish soil and the pairing of Jehan Daruvala and Dennis Hauger will be eager to reverse their fortunes.

The 23-year-old Indian will be back for the second time between the streets of the Principality, and as he sits third in the driver championship, he is hoping to put his experience to fruition. Fellow PREMA driver Dennis Hauger will be driving for the first time on a street course, and on the tight and twisty Monte Carlo course there will be great challenges awaiting the 18-year-old Norwegian.

Qualifying is set to be pivotal and to ease traffic concerns, the cars will be split into two groups, while racing will require extra sharp craft to maximise the results throughout the weekend with the lack of passing opportunities. The proximity of the barriers and situational awareness in general will also be key for the Red Bull pairing as they look forward to a smooth and possibly successful weekend.

Rene Rosin - Team Principal

“We are delighted to be back to Monte Carlo, a legendary place that always gives us goosebumps every time that we are able to run our cars there. It also gives us incredible motivation even though it’s an even more difficult challenge than any F2 race. We know both Jehan and Dennis are hungry for revenge and we definitely look forward to use that energy in a positive way.”
