PREMA Racing rounds out FIA F2 preseason test

2022 FIA F2 Championship set for late March season opener

PREMA Racing rounds out FIA F2 preseason test

PREMA Racing wrapped up the three-day FIA Formula 2 Championship test session at Bahrain International Circuit as the Sakhir venue hosted the traditional round of preseason testing.

Set for his third season in the championship, Indian racer Jehan Daruvala was a consistent frontrunner throughout all segments, while fellow Red Bull Junior driver Dennis Hauger continued to increase his experience and chemistry with the car and all the new variables of the series, starting from tyre management.

Despite Day 3 came to an early end due a sandstorm, the team was able to complete an extensive programme ahead of the 2022 opener later this month at Sakhir.

#1 - Dennis Hauger
"Three days of testing done. It was very productive with some long runs and getting the feel for both prime and option tyres. I made a good step in driving this week, and I'm building up that confidence all the way. I'm looking forward to getting the season started. There are still some things to improve, but we will keep working until it's race weekend."

#2 - Jehan Daruvala
"We experienced three very productive days of testing. As a team, we were trying to simulate what is going to happen on the race weekend in terms of conditions. So in the AM sessions, we focuses mostly on race runs, starts, and pit-stop practice, and in the PM sessions we were focusing more on qualifying pace, hence we used one set of Option tyres on Day 1 and Day 2 at night to have a feel for how it will be in qualifying. The car felt great on short and long runs, and as a team, we got through our run plan, of course apart from Day 3 evening with the sandstorm… There are a lot of positives to take from the test and most importantly I feel comfortable in the car and ready for the battle on our hands!"
