History

Founded in 1983 by Angelo Rosin and Giorgio Piccolo, PREMA Racing has become the leading contender in junior single-seater racing. It is widely recognized as the third force in Italian motorsports, sitting just behind F1 teams Ferrari and Alpha Tauri in terms of size, achievements and competition profile.

Not only PREMA entered a wide variety of racing championships, from Formula 2 to Formula 4, but also excelled in all of them.

PREMA has a history of high-profile partnerships, from multinational companies to automakers and F1 teams. The list includes Honda, Toyota, Renault, Mercedes, Scuderia Ferrari, Red Bull Racing, and international-level players like the Government of Macau (China), Japanese automotive retailer Autobacs and multinational tobacco company Camel.

PREMA is proud of the continued success achieved by its former drivers, including Guan Yu Zhou, Mick Schumacher, Charles Leclerc, Lance Stroll, Pierre Gasly, Antonio Giovinazzi, Nicholas Latifi and Esteban Ocon.

Team Structure

Today, PREMA covers all the steps of the junior single-seater ladder towards Formula 1. Founder Angelo Rosin is the Team Principal of PREMA Powerteam. The operation runs in Formula 4 competition and the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine. PREMA Racing, led by René Rosin, competes in FIA Formula 2 and FIA Formula 3. The team features more than 60 highly-skilled staff members, some of them boasting previous F1 experiences.

The Technical Department, led by Guillaume Capietto, features several workgroups which operate independently. The department attracts talent coming from the most prestigious European universities and with international racing backgrounds. The drivers can thus rely on the highest level of technical support and vehicle performance.

The racing activity is complemented by an experienced media staff. The team's Press Officer is in permanent contact with the key media and news outlets, and the social media production personnel make sure that PREMA is powerfully represented on the new media platforms to maximize its exposure and outreach.
