R14 Abu Dhabi - FIA Formula 2 Race 2 Report

PREMA Racing ends 2022 season with points finish

R14 Abu Dhabi - FIA Formula 2 Race 2 Report

Dennis Hauger fought back from P7 on the grid to take his second fourth-place finish of the weekend in the FIA Formula 2 Championship finale in Abu Dhabi. The PREMA Racing Norwegian vaulted to P4 at the start and engaged in a flag-to-flag battle throughout the 33 laps that composed today's Feature Race.

Hauger, who lost one spot in the pits but stayed in close contention throughout the final part of the race, eventually secured P4 courtesy of a mechanical issue that happened to his main contender.

Starting from the 12th place, fellow Red Bull Junior driver Jehan Daruvala got stuck in the mid-pack in the early stages and could not make the most of his prime-option strategy while still suffering from minor consequences of yesterday's hard crash. The Indian eventually brought home P13.

Daruvala and Hauger finished in P7 and P10 in the Driver Championship, while PREMA Racing wrapped up P4 in the Team Championship with three wins to its credit.

# 1 - Dennis Hauger

"I had a good start and got up to P4 quite early. I just stayed in the queue on options, went into the pits and we lost a position, unfortunately, but we had the pace to sort of be up there for the podium. I still feel that we maximised what we could and I'm happy with P4 from P7. We had a decent weekend overall to end the season so I'm happy about that."

# 2 - Jehan Daruvala

"Definitely not an easy race but I'm happy we got to get out today after the big crash yesterday. The boys did a good job putting the car back together. In the end, I wasn't 100 percent there physically, I was struggling a little bit with my arm. It is what it is, obviously, the season didn't go to plan but still, this is how racing goes and I'll be back."
