R03 Hungaroring - FRECA Race Preview
PREMA Racing is back at the Hungaroring this coming weekend for the third round of the 2023 Formula Regional European Championship. The twisty track on the outskirts of Budapest will welcome the team as it continues its fight back from a difficult opening round at Imola. In the last event at Barcelona, all drivers made key gains in terms of the championship, with Kimi Antonelli now headlining the effort in second place.
The 16-year-old Italian secured two podiums at Barcelona and will be racing for the first time in Hungary, but he proved he is a quick learner. Now standing fifth, 18-year-old Spaniard Lorenzo Fluxá delivered a solid all-around performance on home soil and is determined to make a further step this weekend.
Having shown great pace and potential in the preseason and Imola, Rafael Camara is looking to bounce back from a difficult run in Spain and come back to scoring points and to the podium fight. The very technical 4.4-kilometre track can be a perfect location to do so for the 18-year-old Brazilian, and will also mark the start of a tight stint featuring three races in four weekends.
