Aron, PREMA secure P4 in Silverstone Feature Race

R06 Silverstone - FIA Formula 3 Race 2 Report

PREMA Racing secured fourth place in the Feature Race of the FIA Formula 3 Championship at Silverstone as Paul Aron finished in P4 after starting from the sixth position on the grid. The Estonian mastered the initial stages on the dry and then the following situations on the wet with slick tyres to secure a points finish.

Starting from P15 after a difficult qualy, British racer Zak O'Sullivan tangled with another car early and had to stop for tyres early. He was able to get back to the tail end of the pack by a safety-car, and eventually manage good gains on the wet.

For Dino Beganovic, the weekend was conditioned by Friday's engine issue. Starting from P30, the Swede did the best job he could, and recovered up to P13 before settling for P16.

#1 - Paul Aron
"Weekend finished here in Silverstone with P4 in the feature race. It's a positive result that gave us valuable points. The potential was extremely good. We started from P6 and made it up to P4, putting pressure on the guys in front the whole race. I even managed to almost get P3, but the safety car timing was a bit unlucky, and we lost a position. Otherwise, I think we can be happy and confident."

#2 - Dino Beganovic
"Not the weekend we expected or what wanted. After qualifying we knew it would have been very hard and in the end, we didn't score any points. Race 2 was good at the beginning, we were up to P13 before the rain, but then after that, we struggled a lot with the slicks on the wet track, just couldn't find the grip. We will learn from the whole weekend, we will keep the pace for the next rounds and bounce back, I'm sure."

#3 - Zak O'Sullivan
"We scored P19 in the Feature Race. It was a bit of a tricky race, and I didn't have the best start. I had contact with another driver and pitted for tyres, and the pace after that was quite strong in clean air. Luckily the rain came in the end, and the safety car got out. The pace with the slicks in the wet was also quite good, so we made up quite a few positions. Obviously not the ideal weekend, but the pace looked promising. Let's see what we can get in Hungary in a two-week time."
