PREMA Racing puts up solid display in Hungaroring qualifying

R09 Hungaroring - FIA Formula 2 Qualifying Report

PREMA Racing had a positive qualifying at Hungaroring as Championship leader Frederik Vesti posted P3 at the end of FIA Formula 2 qualifying at the Hungarian venue.

The Dane was solid all day and maximized his opportunities while battling for pole. Coming from an eventful round at Silverstone, he achieved a positive result for both races in a promising scenario for the days ahead.

Ollie Bearman kept making progress throughout the day as his performance got stronger, and eventually surged to P7 with his second set of tyres. The British rookie will have the chance to start from a good spot in the reverse-grid Sprint Race and will also have a good opportunity in Sunday's feature race.

#7 - Frederik Vesti
"We ended up P3 today after leading for much part of qualifying, but in the final lap, we didn't quite have what we needed to do the pole. It's still a very good result and a really strong day. We made a great step forward compared to Silverstone, and I'm really happy with how the team reacted. A result like this was very much needed after Sunday in Silverstone. It's good to bounce back like this, and be at the front of the field all day. Now we switch the focus to the races, usually where the points are, so let's go for that!"

#8 - Ollie Bearman
"A bit of an average quality let's say, but I'm happy with the step made from FP because I didn't really maximize it. That put me a bit on a back foot, and I was always kind of one lap behind everyone else. The second run was decent, but unfortunately, I didn't manage to improve on my second lap, which would have been nice. Anyway, the car felt good today, now we head to the races where we have two decent positions, let's go for some points."
