R11 Zandvoort - FIA Formula 2 Qualifying Report

PREMA Racing has positive showing in disrupted Zandvoort qualifying.

R11 Zandvoort - FIA Formula 2 Qualifying Report

PREMA Racing brought home two solid qualifying results today at Zandvoort as the FIA Formula 2 Championship got back on track after its summer break. After the first series of runs, the session at the Dutch venue was red-flagged three times, which essentially prevented teams and drivers from using their second set of tyres.

Danish racer Frederik Vesti secured a positive third place as he maximized the available time, ending up about one tenth away from pole.

Making his rookie F2 qualifying at Zandvoort, teammate Ollie Bearman was forced to settle for the sixth position, as he did not have the chance to make further gains from his opening flying lap.

All eyes are now on the two races, which might provide an even more challenging situation with the variable weather forecasted for the rest of the weekend.

#7 FREDERIK VESTI

"We got P3 in Zandvoort's qualifying and I'm really happy with that. I feel we could have done pole, but probably everyone in the top-10 feels like that in a session with three red flags. Third place is really good, some of our biggest rivals are also quite far behind us. All eyes on the races right now. Great job to everyone at PREMA and we continue to push."

#8 OLLIE BEARMAN

"A difficult qualy overall with P6 in the end. So many red flags in this session. I was not really able to get the lap. It's a bit unfortunate, but anyway we know the pace is there. Let's go for the races."
