Brazilian driver set for second Formula Regional run
Rafael Camara will be competing with PREMA Racing in the 2024 Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine, the team is delighted to announce.
The 18-year-old Brazilian will be entering his second year in the series after his race-winning campaign in 2023. Camara made his racing debut with PREMA in 2022, when he ended up third in the Italian Formula 4 Championship and in the German ADAC series, where he also secured the rookie title.
For 2023, he made the switch to Formula Regional, posting two wins and three pole positions en-route to fifth place in the Championship standings. He was also third in the Formula Regional Middle East Championship.
With a clear winning potential, Camara will go for another year in FRECA, as always with the support of the Ferrari Driver Academy, with the goal of using 2024 as a stepping stone for his future career steps.
Rene Rosin - Team Principal
"It's great to work for another year with Rafael. We think he has a lot of potential and we cannot wait to see what we will be able to achieve. FRECA is always a challenging championship, where all drivers and teams are really close together. It also visits some of the most relevant venues in junior single seaters, so it's an outstanding learning ground and we hope to take the most out of it in 2024.”

"I'm very happy to continue with PREMA. We had a very good year together in 2023, everybody is very collaborative and it's basically like a big family. I'm very looking forward to starting the new season and continuing this journey. I learned so much this season, and I will try to do my best to keep learning and do a good job. I'm confident it will be a positive year."
