PREMA Racing moves to Zandvoort for FRECA Round 3
It's already round three for the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine, and coming from a positive weekend at Spa-Francorchamps, PREMA Racing will line up at another legendary venue, Circuit Zandvoort, with the lead of the Driver and Team championships.
Brazilian Rafael Camara won three out of four races so far and is looking to keep the momentum on a notably tough track made of challenging high-speed corners and not much room for mistakes. The Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy member already competed there in F4 and in FRECA last year though, so he aims to capitalize on experience as well.
James Wharton secured two podium finishes so far. The Australian has made positive steps and despite an ill-fated Saturday in Belgium, he showcased impressive runs.
Ugo Ugochukwu also faced bad luck in the opening two events at Hockenheim and Spa. The American, representing the McLaren Driver Development programme, will be competing at Zandvoort for the first time but has the potential to catch up quickly as teams and drivers will be on track for a test day on Thursday.
RENÉ ROSIN - Team Principal
"The start of the season has definitely been impressive. Rafael has put up a show in the two opening rounds, but even if he has some cushion at the top of the championship, the field is extremely close and we must keep pushing and taking every opportunity we can. We hope to keep the same potential we showed so far and maximize it across our full lineup."
