PREMA Racing continues mid-season stint at Spielberg
The FIA Formula 2 Championship is entering round 2 of its Summer tripleheader and coming from a challenging round at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, PREMA Racing is looking forward to a rebound at Spielberg. The 4.3-kilometer track, featuring an up-and-down layout made of hard accelerations and tough braking zones, is quite different compared to the previous one, and drivers are looking to make steps there.
Kimi Antonelli will be back to the circuit where he made his very first single-seater start, and where he won already in 2022. Lining up alongside him, Ollie Bearman is returning after the team struggled to find the ideal balance. The British racer also has a win under his belt at the venue in Formula 4, but is now looking to be back on the competitive level seen earlier this season.
Despite its stop-and-go nature, the track does not provide huge challenges in terms of tyres. Series supplier Pirelli will provide a softer combination than usual, with the P Zero Red Soft as the Prime choice, paired by the Purple Supersoft as the option.
RENÉ ROSIN - Team Principal
"It has been a difficult weekend and every one of us is working incredibly hard to put this season on the right track. We need a smooth weekend and we must be as focused as possible. We are on a track that we all know well, but the pack is also incredibly tight there so mistakes are very penalizing."
