Italian F4 set for cross-border Paul Ricard race
The Italian Formula 4 Championship is heading into the last round of its mid-summer stint at Circuit Paul Ricard, with round 5 out of 7 anticipating a break for teams and drivers. A staple in racing history, the French venue is a tricky one as the flowing corners and long straights require good balance, and its flat nature, featuring the trademark blue and red line in the tarmac runoff areas makes it more challenging to find the right marks for drivers.
Coming from 10 victories in the first 12 races, Freddie Slater will certainly be a favorite in Le Castellet. The British racer has been the dominant force so far, but the challenging circuit ahead will need not be underestimated. Rookie Championship leader Alex Power will continue to chase his first win of the season, aiming for a good qualifying that will be key for everyone.
Relying on his experience, Emirati Rashid Al Dhaheri will be looking for more positive results after his overall podium at Mugello. Making further steps in their rookie season, Kean Nakamura-Berta and Tomass Stolcermanis will try to maximize the learning opportunity on such a challenging track, while Indian Dion Gowda is hoping to put the great potential seen at times this season more consistently into practice.
Angelo Rosin - Team Manager
"We always look forward to going to Circuit Paul Ricard. Despite being used for testing, it's a challenging track that puts teams and drivers a bit out of their comfort zone. This has been an extremely successful season so far, but as we always say, it's keeping the focus and the consistency that makes the difference so we look forward to maximizing the learning and the results."
