PREMA Racing scores P7, P14 in Hungaroring Qualifying
The tricky Hungaroring welcomed the FIA Formula 2 Championship back for Qualifying today and PREMA Racing wrapped up the session with a seventh place with Kimi Antonelli. After a difficult first run, the Italian delivered under pressure with his second set of tyres to secure seventh place, which will enable him to take off from the front row of tomorrow's Sprint Race and have a promising starting spot for Race 2 too.
Unfortunately, Ollie Bearman was unable to take full advantage of his second set, which normally produces the fastest laps. As a consequence, the British racer ended up in P14 and, barring some penalties, will take off from the 14th position in both races.
#3 OLLIE BEARMAN
"Tough qualifying today. The first run was okay, while in the second run I made a small mistake and unfortunately I overheated too much the tyres. Not a very good result in the end. Let's try and look forward to the rest of the weekend."
#4 KIMI ANTONELLI
"Quali done here in Hungaroring. The first run was quite difficult. I made a mistake in the first push, and in the second push, the tyres were not the same, plus I got a bit of traffic. The second run was way better on my side, clean lap overall, and I think P7 was the maximum we could have achieved today. Still, two good starting positions for tomorrow and Sunday, we will try to build on this to have a good weekend."
