R01 Mugello - Euro4 Championship Race Preview

PREMA set for 2024 Euro4 Championship opener

R01 Mugello - Euro4 Championship Race Preview

It's go-time for the 2024 Euro4 Championship as the three-round series is kicking off this weekend at Mugello Circuit, the same venue that hosted the Italian Formula 4 Championship in July. The PREMA Racing Formula 4 operation is jumping into action after a month-long break and will do so in a friendly place. Back in round 4 of the Italian series, British racer Freddie Slater achieved a scintillating triple win which consolidated his title bid.

In Euro4, PREMA is lining up as the reigning champion. Ugo Ugochukwu won the inaugural Euro4 title in 2023 before making the switch to Formula Regional competition, and his F4 teammates are looking forward to following on the same path.

Slater will enter the season as a favorite, but his teammates will have a lot to say in that regard. Alex Powell, who made his car racing debut in 2024 at the venue, is fifth in the Italian series and is looking to make another step at the flowing up-and-down Italian track.

Coming from his maiden European Formula 4 win, Kean Nakamura-Berta has been on a positive trajectory, with great potential on display and now more experience under his belt.

Rashid Al Dhaheri achieved a podium finish at Mugello, while Tomass Stolcermanis did the same in the most recent event at Circuit Paul Ricard. They are both eager to repeat the same results. Speaking about podium finishes, Dion Gowda has two to his credit this year and aims to start the European series on a good note after showing promising form.

After running at Mugello, the Euro4 Championship will continue at Red Bull Ring in mid-September, before lining up at Monza in early October for the 2024 finale.

Angelo Rosin - Team Manager

"The 2024 season continues and we are ready for another very interesting-looking F4 competition. More racing means more chances for our drivers to make progress and learn new things, but it also means more challenges and an additional layer of preparation required. We look forward to this series and to supporting our drivers as they try to maximize the opportunity."
