PREMA Racing set for pivotal event at Red Bull Ring
The Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine will continue its busy September stint this weekend at Red Bull Ring with PREMA Racing lining up as the favorite after the first seven rounds of the year. With unpredictable weather expected, and cold temperatures in the forecast, it will be even trickier than usual for teams and drivers to find their way to the front, especially in qualifying. For that reason, it will be key to build experience right from the first testing opportunity on Thursday.
With a comfortable lead heading in the last three rounds of the year, Rafael Camara will be back to a familiar track, having raced and won at Spielberg last year. With six wins and seven poles to his name in 2024, he has a very clear potential to be the man to beat.
James Wharton is currently laying P5 in points but is well within reach of making important gains. The Aussie is coming from a positive weekend at Imola featuring two podium finishes in changing conditions. Having shown winning capabilities, Red Bull Ring might be the right chance for him.
Like Wharton, Ugo Ugochukwu had positive Formula 4 experiences at the track and will look to fight back to the podium, having achieved that result previously at Hungaroring and having got close with P5 in Imola.
RENÉ ROSIN - Team Principal
"This is a very important weekend in pursuit of what we want to achieve. We come in as the leaders and with positive performances across the whole lineup. The goal is to keep the same trend even if we know the pack will be very very matched at Red Bull Ring. We are keeping our heads down, and we are aiming for a smooth weekend."
