PREMA heads into penultimate round of 2024 at Barcelona
The penultimate round of the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine will go underway at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya this weekend, and lining up on a venue that gave the team plenty of Formula Regional success in the past, PREMA Racing is looking to continue its form in the series.
The 4.6-kilometer venue is a feature across the board in junior single-seaters and with a podium under his belt there in 2023, Rafael Camara will aim for more remarkable results after the six wins he achieved this year. The Brazilian is hoping to bounce back after his tough luck at Red Bull Ring and sunny Spain is definitely expected to provide better conditions for that.
James Wharton achieved a brilliant win in Austria, his second of the year, and has been on a roll recently with three podiums in the last four races. The Australian is making a bold comeback in points, with more positive steps on the way. With one podium this year, Ugo Ugochukwu has set sights on a friendly circuit, the one where he won the Euro 4 Championship title last year. The American has shown great potential, which he wants to turn into solid results.
RENÉ ROSIN - Team Principal
"We line up in Barcelona with a comfortable lead, and we we look forward to helping Rafael continue his chase for the title. At the same time, we know we are capable of placing all three cars on top, and the goal will be to maximize what James and Ugo can achieve in terms of the championship. This is a tricky series and qualifying will be especially important, so we must be prepared and push right from the beginning."
