Middle Eastern competition back with exciting new format
PREMA Racing announces that the team will be entering the 2024 Formula Trophy. The Middle Eastern competition is set for a revamp, as it will spread over a three-round schedule including the traditional Abu Dabi Grand Prix event.
Coming back to the Emirates after dominating the 2024 F4 UAE Championship, PREMA will be fielding a three-car lineup. For the opening round at Dubai Autodrome, the team will be featuring the trio of Rashid Al Dhaheri, Zhenrui Chi, and Salim Hanna. Chi and Hanna will be making their maiden single-seater outings as they are set to move up from karting. They will return for the following two events at Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. On the other hand, the experienced Emirati will be waiving his goodbye to F4 racing after the F1-supporting second round, the F4 UAE Trophy, to focus on his FRECA preparations.
For the series finale, the team's third car will welcome a bright rising star from the USA, Sebastian Wheldon. Son of the late, two-time Indianapolis 500 Champion Dan Wheldon, he finished third in the 2024 USF Juniors championship after winning the 2023 Skip Barber Formula Race Series.
The series will kick off with a test day on Thursday, November 28. The opening races will be held on November 30th and December 1st.
