Bearman secure P5 as PREMA Racing signs off 2024 season
PREMA Racing secured a top-5 finish in the final round of the 2024 FIA Formula 2 Championship as Ollie Bearman fought back from the 13th spot on the grid with a brilliant display. The British racer made a quick getaway and maximized his early pace while taking care of his option tyres.
The Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy driver soon came back to the pits for primes and made the most of the strategy to gain positions on a couple of same-strategy rivals. In the final stages, while he had to surrender P4 to a contender running the reverse strategy, he still captured a valuable fifth place to cap off his junior single-seater career and PREMA's 2024 season.
Kimi Antonelli did not take part in the Feature Race to speed up his recovery after feeling unwell yesterday. While the team was sad not to race one last time together, everyone at PREMA Racing wishes him a quick return to the track.
As PREMA signs off the season, the team waves goodbye to Bearman and Antonelli as they take the next chapters of their careers in Formula 1. The team also congratulates Gabriel Bortoleto and Invicta Racing on winning the 2024 championship titles.
#3 OLLIE BEARMAN
"I'm happy with the race. I think we lost a bit of time on options at the start and that was the only issue. On the primes, we were really quick and had a strong pace. I'm proud to have finished my F2 career on a high. Of course, I wanted more from it but still, I learned so much. I had such a great journey with PREMA so huge thanks to everyone."
