PREMA set for fast-paced F1 Academy opener in Shanghai

R01 Shanghai - F1 Academy Race Preview

PREMA Racing is set for a remarkable weekend. Coming from Australia and Melbourne, home of the 2025 FIA F2 and F3 openers, the team will be competing in INDYCAR at Thermal Club and, last but not least, in the first round of the 2025 F1 Academy Series at Shanghai International Circuit.

Entering its third season, the all-women championship is set for another fast-paced season, visiting multiple countries, cultures, and continents. Lining up at the home of the Chinese Grand Prix, the team will field a trio of talented racers featuring Nina Gademan, Doriane Pin, and Tina Hausmann. After winning the 2024 teams' title, PREMA is looking to be a leading contender and battle for driver honors once again.

Hailing from the Netherlands, Gademan was impressive in her wild-card debut last season and will represent the BWT Alpine Formula One Team. Pin will once again be part of the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Junior Programme, looking to improve on last year's runner-up spot, while Hausmann is returning with the support of the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team.

The complex, 5.45-kilometer Shanghai track won't be completely new for the teams and drivers, as it hosted a three-day test earlier this month. The pace is expected to be up very quickly, and competition will be tight right away.

RENÉ ROSIN - Team Principal

"It's great to see F1 Academy continuing to grow in terms of attention, calendar, and competitive strength, and we look forward to the start of the 2025 season. After beginning the 2025 season in Melbourne, we head to another unique location. We think we have a competitive lineup that can continue our successful experience in this series."
