PREMA wraps up difficult Bahrain weekend

R02 Bahrain - FIA Formula 3 Race 2 Report

PREMA Racing wrapped up a tricky weekend at Bahrain International Circuit as the team did not score points in Sunday's FIA Formula 3 Feature Race.  Starting from outside the top-10, the team's three drivers were caught in the mid-pack battle and later suffered from tyre degradation, losing ground after a solid start.

Noel León fought hard for the points zone but dropped back to eventually post a 17th place. Brando Badoer also found himself in a dicey group of cars just outside the top-10 before dropping back to the 21st position. Ugo Ugochukwu, who was taking off from P26, followed a similar trajectory and also had to deal with a double track limits penalty that dropped him back to P27.

#1 - BRANDO BADOER
“I started from P16 and made my way to the points, but then I just couldn’t stay there, I didn’t have enough pace. I dropped back a few positions, and I did my best. We will work hard to improve for the next weekends.”

#2 - NOEL LEÓN
“Really difficult feature race as well as the overall weekend. Not getting points really hurts. We are heading into a break now before coming back for the European season. I’m looking forward to it. We need to analyze everything and start the weekend on the front foot.”

#3 - UGO UGOCHUKWU
“Overall, a tricky weekend here in Bahrain. The results didn’t quite show what we had the potential for, as qualifying put us a little bit on the back foot and the weekend became more complicated from there. Tyre management was also challenging in the races, we are going to try to improve that and bounce back stronger for Imola.”
