PREMA Racing wrapped up Round 3 of the 2025 FIA Formula 2 Championship with another points finish at Jeddah Corniche Circuit as Gabriele Minì ended up P9 in today's Feature Race. The Italian started from P8 on option tyres and battled in the middle of the group, but missed some pace needed to fight for the front few spots.
Using the same strategy, Sebastian Montoya showed some pace on both tyre compounds and made impressive gains despite having to fight in a close pack. Unfortunately, his race ended with five laps to go due to an exhaust issue.
After rounding out the first part of the season outside Europe, FIA F2 will be back to Europe with round 4 in Imola.
#9 SEBASTIAN MONTOYA
"Interesting feature race. I'm really happy with the step we made compared to yesterday, although it was not the result we wanted in the end due to a technical issue. We had a strong pace on option, but DRS took a long time to be activated, and we couldn't overtake, because we were nose to tail, the slipstream here is very powerful. Still, I was able to catch and stay close to the guys in front. On primes, we were very strong too, and I could close the gap. Unfortunately, then we had the issue, not the way you want to end the weekend. I'm really happy with the improvement, and with my driving as well, so we are going in the right direction. I feel we could have gotten more out of this event because it was good for us overall. We just need to keep working like this, because the work is paying off."
#10 GABRIELE MINÌ
"Tough one. The first lap was quite good. We were really quick in the corners this time, a big improvement from Race 1, but I could not get a run on the others, missing some straight-line speed and we got blocked with the traffic. It's a bit of a shame, but still, we got a few points, better than nothing. Onto the European races."
