PREMA Racing will be back to the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine this weekend and will do so in one of its most iconic destinations, on the Adriatic Riviera at Misano. The team is set for the opening round of a series that it won in the last three years, and will do so with a lineup of high-potential racers.
Hailing from the United Arab Emirates, 17-year-old Rashid Al Dhaheri will be driving the #14 car. Coming from F4, he left a strong impression in the pre-season testing and race events, ending up sixth in Formula Regional Middle East. On the #27 car, Freddie Slater is also moving up from F4 this year after a dominant title run in the 2024. Italian F4 Championship. Slater also ended up second in FRMEC with four wins to his credit and also won the Rookie Cup. Running on the #45 car, Australian Jack Beeton was also a race winner in FRMEC and was a runner-up in Italian F4 last year.
The trio will be rejoined by Doriane Pin later in the season. The Mercedes-AMG F1 Team junior driver will be competing in the third round of F1 Academy in Miami this weekend.
The challenge this weekend at the flat 4.2-kilometer racetrack is set to hit interesting notes. The circuit features a quick succession of slow and medium corners, paired with quick changes of direction. Teams have good knowledge of it having hosted preseason testing, so the competition is expected to be tight. The weekend is expected to be blessed by perfect racing conditions and the competitive field is ready to go.
Rene Rosin - Team Principal
"We are delighted to get back to the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine as it's a series that gave us many satisfactions in the past. We think it is a valuable step for drivers coming from F4 in terms of developing their skills and we are confident in our line-up of young but very talented drivers. There will be plenty of high-profile teams coming after us and we have to stay fully committed, work hard, and keep pushing."
