PREMA Racing checks out F2 triple-header in Barcelona

R06 Barcelona - FIA Formula 2 Race Preview

FIA Formula 2 is set to round out its first tripleheader of the year in Barcelona, and PREMA Racing is relishing the challenge in Catalunya with a strong run under the team's belt at Monte Carlo. With its first two podiums of the year, one for each driver, everyone at PREMA is motivated for the upcoming event.

Heading to the technical Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya track, home of mid and high-speed corners and plenty of off-season testing, the team had good success there in the past. With both Sebastian Montoya and Gabriele Minì in good form, there are solid vibes heading ahead of the weekend. While the Italian claimed second place in Race 1 in Monaco, before being collected in a turn 1 incident in the Feature Race, Montoya bounced back to take P3 and his first FIA F2 podium on Sunday.

On the notably abrasive track, tyre management can become a key aspect. Series partner Pirelli will bring three sets per car of white hard tyres as the Prime choice, while the P-Zero red softs will be the Options to be used for qualifying and for the Feature Race.

RENÉ ROSIN - Team Principal

"We are happy to go back on track so quickly after some positive results at Monte Carlo. We aim to keep the momentum going and make more steps as we hit a track that is always a key location in shaping up the rest of the season. Back-to-back racing is also tough in terms of being organized and ready, but it allows us to stay in race mood and chase more progress. As always, qualifying on Friday and execution on race day will be the key but we are confident we will be competitive with both drivers."
