PREMA Racing and Sebastian Montoya captured the second Feature Race podium finish in two FIA Formula 2 races at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
The Colombian-American had a swift start from the front row and retained second place early, starting with the option tyres. A fast pit stop sent him back in the hunt, and while aiming to bring his primes to the end, Montoya did so in solid fashion, delivering his series-high result of P2.
Starting from P18, Gabriele Minì soon started attacking to gain points on the opposite strategy to his teammate. Providing a clever drive, he made the most of the option tyres in the final part of the race to claim P10, even though a late safety car prevented him from making more gains.
FIA F2 will be coming back on track at the end of the month at Red Bull Ring.

“P2 in the Feature Race and back-to-back Feature Race podiums, mega job by the team! We were missing a little bit to fight with Lindblad, but I had enough to hold off and pull away from everyone else. More points on the board — I doubled my points just with today’s race, so I’m really happy. Thank you to the team, we have been making mega steps. We just need to keep working, keep maximizing the speed and results, and let it come to us.”

“Just finished the Feature Race. I had a good start and I overtook a few cars. I think I was fifth or sixth among the Prime runners, and the pace was quite strong looking at the others around me. I was a bit unlucky with a car ahead having issues and not being able to overtake, which cost me a couple of seconds. After the pit stop, the pace was very strong again. We overtook more cars and came back to the points. The late safety car didn’t allow to gain more positions, but it was still quite a positive race, starting from P18.“
