Sunny Spielberg saw PREMA Racing deliver a positive result today with Gabriele Minì ending up a close fourth in Qualifying for round 7 of the FIA Formula 2 Championship.
The short Austrian circuit once again delivered a close-quarter battle between the series' front-runners and Minì fully into the game using both his sets of tyres. The Italian, Alpine Academy driver eventually finished in P4 to secure positive starting spots for both races.
Sebastian Montoya eventually took P11 but the Colombian-American was far from out of contention, turning solid laps and leaving a strong impression ahead of the two races.
#9 SEBASTIAN MONTOYA
"I can't really be too mad. Obviously I would like to be in the top ten, but it's Red Bull Ring, it's quite a short lap and here everything makes a big difference. It's a bit frustrating because on the first run we were quite competitive, but we are still missing a little bit. We made some adjustments for run 2, but we probably went a bit too far. Still, the pace is quite strong, we have a good car, so onto the races!"
#10 GABRIELE MINÌ
"It was a good qualifying overall. We were competitive in both runs, and I'm quite happy with my lap. The positioning was good, we just missed a tiny bit of pace, but it has been a very big step compared to the previous round where we struggled to be in the top 15. We made some changes and that helped quite a lot. We will continue working overnight to turn this good positioning into good points."
