It was another positive run for Ugo Ugochukwu and PREMA Racing at Silverstone as the FIA Formula 3 Championship got underway for its Sprint Racing at the British GP. Coming from a stellar qualifying run that saw him secure P2 and a front-row start for the Feature Race, Ugo Ugochukwu recovered impressively from P11 of the reverse grid, maximizing his chance and even pulling great overtakes en route to a fifth-place finish.
Noel Leon didn't have the easiest start as he struggled to get off the line from the second row. Still, he was also potentially in contention for the top 5 and secured a valuable points finish in P8.
Unfortunately, Brando Badoer was involved in a lap 1 melee and ended up making contact with another competitor, having to retire on the spot.
#1 BRANDO BADOER
"Sprint Race 1 resulted in a DNF in lap 1. It was an unlucky race situation, and I made contact with the car in front. Let's focus on tomorrow."
#2 NOEL LEÓN
"A really difficult race. We need to improve our starts because we are struggling to get off the line. So it was a bad start, and, to be honest, we didn't have the pace to be up there. We need to keep working and move forward to tomorrow."
#3 UGO UGOCHUKWU
"Really good Sprint Race today. From P11, we finished in P5. I made some good overtakes, and the pace was great as well. It gives us great confidence going into tomorrow."
