PREMA Racing returns to California for Round 14 of the 2025 NTT INDYCAR SERIES season, the Grand Prix of Monterey at the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, following back-to-back top ten finishes.
Set against the scenic backdrop of the Monterey Peninsula, the 11-turn road course is a favourite among drivers thanks to its flowing layout and technical demands.
Fast and unforgiving, the track is renowned for its dramatic elevation changes – most famously at the Corkscrew, a blind, downhill left-right sequence that drops nearly six stories in just 135 metres, cementing its status as one of the most iconic corners in global motorsport.
Last year’s event marked the final race before the introduction of the hybrid system, making the return to Laguna Seca the first time the new power unit will be used at the circuit under race conditions. This will place added importance on practice sessions for setup refinement and data collection.
Callum Ilott returns to the venue where he claimed his career-best NTT INDYCAR Series finish of fifth from 20th in 2023, while Robert Shwartzman will continue to gain valuable experience on road courses in his rookie campaign.
“Laguna Seca rewards bravery and punishes mistakes – it’s a true test of driver precision and car balance. While the Corkscrew is the standout feature, the whole lap demands total commitment. Callum has shown strong pace here in the past and Robert is making great progress with every event. After back-to-back top ten finishes, we’re aiming to continue that momentum and push for a strong end to our debut season.”
