PREMA Racing looks to build on momentum in Milwaukee

R16 Milwaukee Mile 250 – NTT INDYCAR SERIES Preview

PREMA Racing travels east to Wisconsin for Round 16 of the 2025 NTT INDYCAR Series season as the championship returns to the Milwaukee Mile for the first of two oval events to round out the season.

Following four top 10s in a row, the team aims to carry forward its recent upward momentum as its debut campaign nears its conclusion.

Known for its comparatively low banking at just 9.25 degrees through the corners, the Milwaukee Mile delivers a road course-like feel, demanding precision and car control rather than the flat-out speed seen at other ovals. This opens the door for more overtaking, not just on the straights but also through the corners.

Drivers will need to be consistent and master traffic during green flag running, with caution periods likely to mix up strategy and shuffle the field. Lapped traffic will come into play quickly with the short nature of the track, further challenging the field and opening up different strategies for teams and drivers.

Neither Callum Ilott nor Robert Shwartzman have raced at the oval before, with the NTT INDYCAR Series only returning to the venue in 2024 after an eight-year hiatus. Both drivers will take to the track for the first time during Saturday’s practice session during this two-day event.

PIERS PHILLIPS - CEO, PREMA Racing INDYCAR

"Milwaukee should provide some exciting low-banked short oval racing. We’ve had some strong performance on the short ovals this season, including two top 10 finishes at Gateway and Iowa, which will give us some confidence heading into the weekend. We have shown good pace on all types of tracks recently, and the team has been working hard to build on that momentum. We want to close out the season on a high note and that starts with a strong showing in Milwaukee."
