Hanna stays with PREMA, moves up to FIA FREC in 2026

Colombian racer to build on strong rookie F4 campaign

PREMA Racing announces that Salim Hanna will step up to the FIA Formula Regional European Championship with the team in 2026.

The 16-year-old Colombian made a brilliant car racing debut last year, winning the Rookie Trophy in the Italian Formula 4 Championship and achieving six overall podiums in the series plus one in the E4 Championship.   He scored 15 rookie class wins between Italian F4 and E4.

Coming from the PREMA Karting ranks, Hanna made impressive strides throughout the year and was able to deliver strength and consistency while increasing his experience.

Hanna will be joining the new-for-2026 FIA series featuring newly developed machinery and sanctioning. He has already started his preparation work for the year ahead.

RENE ROSIN - TEAM PRINCIPAL

"We are delighted to see Salim continue his career with the team after joining back in his karting days. He had an impressive rookie season. He was  quick and consistent from the start and made further progress, achieving remarkable overall results in addition to the rookie wins. Formula Regional is a challenging step, but we will do our best to support Salim in making  the transition with the goal of achieving more success."
