Formula 2 heads to Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal for the first time, following its spectacular American debut in Miami. PREMA Racing will compete at the legendary venue in both FIA F2 and F1 Academy, returning after a victorious run in 2025.
A semi-permanent venue, Montreal is technical and can be quite bumpy, requiring precision on the kerbs, good braking and strong traction. In addition, there will be four DRS zones, increasing the action and the passing opportunities.
The pairing of Sebastian Montoya and Mari Boya returns to action after a positive Feature Race in the USA, having achieved a double points finish, which, for the Colombian, replicated the one he delivered in Melbourne.
There will be no shortage of variables in Canada, starting from the unique circuit configuration all the way to the unpredictable weather, and with relatively low temperatures expected, factors like the warm-up phase and tyre management will become critical.
Stephen Mitas - Team Principal & CEO
"It is an exciting prospect to be heading to Montreal, a circuit that will be new to all of us. We come off the back of a challenging weekend, but the way the team responded and finished strongly was genuinely encouraging, and we are very much looking forward to building on that. There will naturally be variables and unknowns to manage throughout the event, but we have full confidence in our drivers and in what this group is capable of delivering."
