2021 marked the launch of the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine – certified by FIA and promoted by ACI Sport. An ambitious new project from ACI Sport and Alpine to form an official fourth rung of the Road to F1 ladder, perfectly positioning itself after the F4 and before the F3. Combining ACI Sport Formula Regional, which PREMA Powerteam dominated in 2019 and 2020, and Formula Renault Eurocup, the idea was to create a defined and unique entry point for young talents coming from the national F4 categories around the world. The new series features 10 meetings racing on active F1 tracks.
With cars designed to F3 safety standards, the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine is a great step forward from F4, and the natural FIA certified step from karting to F1.
Partners such as Tatuus, Pirelli and Castrol make the Formula Regional by Alpine single-seater an amazing come-together of safety and advanced engineering solutions while crucially remaining affordable.
