PREMA Racing set for 2023 Euro4 Championship finale
The Euro4 Championship will be back underway at Barcelona this weekend, and PREMA Racing is set for the final round of its European Formula 4 season at the Spanish venue. The 4.657-km layout, used by Formula 1 and leading junior championships, will provide the drivers with a valuable learning chance while they compete for the new-for-2023 series.
PREMA is currently leading the way in the team and driver championships, although with double points for grabs this weekend, nothing is decided yet and huge swings may happen. Arvid Lindblad is followed by teammate Ugo Ugochukwu in the Driver Championship. The pairing secured three wins so far this season. The goal for them is to continue showing the form achieved in Mugello and Monza. James Wharton is not far away from the lead in fifth place. With such a tight situation, the Australian, who also got one win this year, will be among the leading competitors.
Having secured multiple points finishes, Tuukka Taponen, Rashid Al Dhaheri, and Nicola Lacorte are in the middle of a hard-fighting mid-pack. The Finn has impressed in the Italian F4 finale at Vallelunga, while the Emirati is determined to bounce back to his previous form after a tough run in Italy, and the Italian wants to repeat the positive results of the early part of the year.
Coming to Spain in full shape, Aurelia Nobels will battle for the Women's Trophy honours, while also eyeing good overall finishes. Last but not least, British racer Freddie Slater will return to PREMA Racing after an impressive debut with the team at Monza, where he was battling within the leading pack straight away.
Angelo Rosin - Team Principal
"We are reaching the end of a busy and competitive European Formula 4 season, and we want to complete it with a positive team result. We race on a track we know really well from other experiences, but it will be relatively new for us in F4. Preparation has been thorough, and we are lining up extra determined to finish off the year with good results and hopefully more..."
