PREMA Racing heads to glamorous Monte Carlo Grand Prix
PREMA Racing will be competing in the Monte Carlo Grand Prix this weekend as the FIA Formula 2 Championship lines up for round 5 of 2024. The team comes from a high-potential weekend at Imola, where a solid qualifying result could not be converted into podium positions.
Kimi Antonelli maximized his home race weekend with a fourth place and is hungry for an F2 breakthrough at such a fascinating destination. He will be driving there - and on a temporary street course - for the first time. Ollie Bearman is equally determined to bounce back from a competitive but complicated season start as he returns to Monte Carlo for the second time.
It will be a key moment for teams and drivers as the season enters a stint rich with classic Formula 1 venues, beginning with arguably the most legendary one.
As the track surface is not among the most abrasive, tyre choice will be on the soft side. Drivers will have three sets of Pirelli red-walled Soft tyres as the Prime choice and two sets of purple-marked Supersofts as the Option.
RENÉ ROSIN - Team Principal
"Coming from a weekend like Imola, where we showed huge potential but faced obstacles that prevented us from reaping the rewards, we head into Monte Carlo, which is a really fascinating place but also an incredibly challenging one. Nothing can be taken for granted there as it's incredibly unique, and taming the mighty Formula 2 cars around the circuit is definitely a tough business. We head into the weekend with the goal of executing it in the best possible way and see what we can take out of it."
