Minì takes second place in Driver Championship
PREMA Racing wrapped up the 2024 FIA Formula 3 Championship as Gabriele Minì stayed in the fight for the title until the very last corner. Once again, F3 delivered an incredibly high-level challenge. Starting from third place, the Alpine Academy driver went up to the second, which was not going to be enough to claim the title, and after finishing P2, Minì was disqualified for a tyre pressure infringement. He still took the runner-up spot in points.
Dino Beganovic started and finished in P10 as he navigated the challenges of a hectic race, as was to be expected in Monza. He was then elevated to P9 by Minì's penalty. The Swedish Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy racer never backed down and claimed a points finish to seal off the year sixth in the Driver Championship.
Starting far back on the grid, Red Bull Junior Arvid Lindblad proved fast, but with an extremely tight and battling pack, he couldn't really fight back, eventually got the 17th position. It was still enough to secure fourth place in drivers' points as he ended up as the best rookie of the year.
As the season is now complete, and the next era is set to start with a new car being introduced for 2025, PREMA Racing congratulates Leonardo Fornaroli on winning the 2024 FIA F3 title and looks forward to starting preparations for the year ahead.
#1 DINO BEGANOVIC
"Not an easy race. I didn't have the best start and I was also pushed wide in T4. After that, I was trying to recover some places but dropped back with some rear deg. The pace was a little bit better than yesterday, but still not great. I want to thank the team for everything. We never gave up. It was a great start to the season in Bahrain, then Australia was the highlight. After that it was tough, struggling with the feeling and pace of the car, not getting it right, and sometimes things not being on our side. There's a combination of factors why we weren't there fighting in the end. We had a good first part of the year, we take away that, and the fact that we never gave up."
#2 GABRIELE MINÌ
"I think we did the best we could. We were in P2, in front of Fornaroli, we managed to save the tyres in the beginning and come back a bit in the end. We did everything we could but we couldn't control the other cars. Of course, it's disappointing, but we can be quite happy with the season. The team worked very hard and I worked very hard too. A big thank you goes to the team, my family, my management, my sponsors, and Alpine for supporting me."
#3 ARVID LINDBLAD
"Not the easiest Feature Race, definitely messy as expected starting so far back. A few things I could have managed better on the racing side, but it was just very difficult when you're so far back. I was really happy with the speed today, it was impressive and a step forward from yesterday. In the second part of the race, I was the fastest car on track and I was going forward strong. I'm really grateful to the team for giving me such a good car, thank you for the work we did overnight to help me improve. I'm really happy to finish the year with such a strong speed in the last race."
