PREMA Racing is set for round 3 of FRECA, which will go back underway not far from where it had stopped a few weeks ago. Coming from the second round of the year at Spa-Francorchamps, the series will compete at the Dutch track of Zandvoort, just outside Amsterdam. The legendary circuit, sitting on the North Sea shores, has made a name for itself with high-speed corners, unforgiving gravel track and environmental challenges.
PREMA is lining up after achieving the team's first win of the season in Spa with Freddie Slater. With three poles in four races with Slater and Rashid Al Dhaheri, the team showed fast pace but also faced bad luck in the races. However, both the Brit and the Emirati are close to the front end of the charts.
On the other hand, Jack Beeton has collected four points finishes out of four, with good consistency compensating for some qualifying woes and a P9 in overall points. Coming back on track for the second time this year, Doriane Pin will be the only PREMA driver to have prior experience at Zandvoort. Last year, she took a scintillating win in round 4 of the F1 Academy series.
As always, the weather will be a tricky aspect, with precipitation expected on multiple occasions for the coming weekend. With a tight and remarkably large field, management of group qualifying might be even more key than usual.
Rene Rosin - Team Principal
"Zandvoort is a great track that always provides brilliant racing, especially with Formula Regional cars. We have great memories there and we are looking forward to making more, as we line up with proven speed potential despite luck not always being on our side so far. The goal is to maximize what we have in all conditions, and it will be particularly important to execute in group qualifying, where hiccups can be costly."
