PREMA Racing looks for momentum gains in Spielberg

R07 Spielberg - FIA Formula 2 Race Preview

PREMA Racing will be back to Spielberg for round 7 of the 2025 FIA Formula 2 Championship and coming from two events that showed positive potential, the team is looking to maximize the weekend with solid results across the board, and a good record including a win in 2024.

Sebastian Montoya has been in great shape recently, with two consecutive feature race podiums and a career-best P2 achieved at Barcelona, and is looking to continue the same trend.

On the other hand, Gabriele Minì lines up with good previous results at the venue and clear potential in his hands. The Italian will aim for a solid weekend start and qualifying performance to lay a good foundation for the races.

Competition at the Styrian venue is always close, with the short and relatively simple layout, and the experience that all teams and drivers have there, creating tight packs with small gaps and car trains where mistakes can be costly. With a smooth track surface and not much abrasion, tyre choice will be the softest possible, with the Pirelli P-Zero Red Soft as the prime choice and the P-Zero Purple Supersoft as the option.

RENÉ ROSIN - Team Principal

"For sure we saw some potential in Monte Carlo and Barcelona, and we achieved some good results, but we cannot stop there. We know we have some very competitive drivers and our goal for Spielberg is to maximize the weekend with both of them and take full advantage of our preparations. As always in Austria, the pack will be incredibly close and competitive, and mistakes can cost dearly and we will need to put up our maximum effort."
