PREMA Racing will keep aiming at positive progress in the upcoming FIA Formula 3 Championship round at Silverstone. The tricky British venue, one of the longest on the calendar and one of the most technical ones with high-speed corners in succession and a mix of characters, the team is looking to stay with the frontrunners after a solid run in Spielberg. It will do so in the same places that handed it a stellar double win last year on which to build.
Ugo Ugochukwu has been impressive on Austrian soil, losing a podium finish only due to a penalty in the Sprint Race and achieving a top-5 in the Feature Race. The American showed speed and consistency. On the other hand, Noel Leon could not turn his high pace into points there and is eager for a rebound. Last but not least, Brando Badoer showed he could stay at the front too, and will be chasing a deserved points finish.
With many elements to take into account, including a tricky circuit, a tight pack, and the weather variables that are always present in the British countryside summer, tyre degradation often plays an important role in the British Grand Prix support races and will need to be taken into account. To support the drivers, series supplier Pirelli has opted to bring the P-Zero White hard tyres for the event.
Rene Rosin - Team Principal
"We come to Silverstone determined to continue the hard work that we saw pay dividends in Austria. We made steps with all three cars, and all drivers were potentially in condition to fight at the front and bring home podiums. We still need to make steps, and while Silverstone is definitely not the easiest track to deal with, we are confident to see another positive weekend."
