PREMA Racing had a two-sided qualifying session today at Silverstone as Sebastian Montoya and Gabriele Minì took part in the FIA Formula 2 Championship qualifying session at the British GP venue.
Sebastian Montoya delivered a top-five run as he kept gaining useful insight at the tricky circuit in both runs. The Colombian-American eventually laid down the fifth-fastest lap and has now set his sights on good results in both races.
On the other hand, Gabriele Minì couldn't find the right chemistry with his car and eventually had to settle for P16 at the end of the day. With a sizeable amount of work to do, he will be looking to manage all variables and bounce back in the weekend's two races.
#9 SEBASTIAN MONTOYA
"I'm very happy with another top five in qualy. I was able to maximize the speed today. It's difficult because, as a rookie, this is not an easy track to try and find the step from the first to the second run. I got a little bit greedy, but I'm happy. I'm thankful to the team, the engineers, and the mechanics for doing an amazing job. We just need to keep pushing and working. This is a fun track, and in the races we have been very strong. I'm really looking forward to enjoying it."
#10 GABRIELE MINÌ
"Messy session. I struggled quite a bit since the beginning. It was tricky for me to even keep the car on track. We just have to watch the data, see what happened, and try to improve for the races."
