PREMA, Ugochukwu keep strong form with front row result

R07 Silverstone - FIA Formula 3 Qualifying Report

PREMA Racing continued to show remarkable steps forward in Silverstone as Ugo Ugochukwu secured a front row position for the FIA Formula 3 Championship Feature Race at the famous British venue.

The American racer focused on maximizing his potential and put everything together in his final run, ending up only two hundredths of a second away from pole position on one of the most technical circuits of the calendar.

Noel Leon posted a solid lap, too. The Mexican finished in the top 10 of what was again an extremely close group. He will have the chance to start from P3 on the Sprint Race grid.

Brando Badoer, on the other hand, focused on finding chemistry with a new track and finished in P16, still not far from the leading pack. However, with chances for passing and tricky weather expected, a comeback is not out of the question.

#1 BRANDO BADOER

"Qualifying done in Silverstone, and it was a tricky one. We built it up step by step, as it's a new track for me. Races are long here, let's see what happens."

#2 NOEL LEON

"Tricky qualifying. I didn't set a good lap at the beginning of the session, but we managed to turn in a decent lap at the end. I still struggle a little bit to be comfortable with the car, but we are in a great position for the Sprint Race. For the Feature Race we will need to see how the British weather will turn out. Everything can happen in Silverstone."

#3 UGO UGOCHUKWU

"We had a really good qualy here at Silverstone, with P2 and by far the best result of the season. We were close to pole position, so the pace is really good and I'm looking forward to the races on Saturday and Sunday."
