The streets of Toronto await PREMA Racing

R13 Toronto – NTT INDYCAR SERIES Preview

The NTT INDYCAR Series and PREMA Racing make the trip over the border to Canada to race on the streets of Toronto for Round 13 of the 2025 season.

As the final street-course event on the calendar, the team will be looking to continue the momentum it has gained throughout its debut season.

The 11-turn course in Downtown Toronto, situated around Exhibition Place, is renowned for its tight corners and bumpy, varying surfaces – demanding maximum precision and confidence from drivers.

The technical nature of the course can sometimes be tricky to navigate and there are limited overtaking opportunities, but areas such as the long straight down Lakeshore Boulevard into the 90-degree right-hander at Turn 3 will offer drivers the chance to make a move.

Fuel saving and a good pitstop strategy can be beneficial during the race; last year’s two-stop race featured these come into play.  An extra five laps added to this year’s race may result in more variation in strategy.

Managing interruptions will also be key. Last year’s race was affected by a red flag, as well as several other caution periods due to incidents.

Callum Ilott will be looking to beat his best finish of 14th at the track, while Robert Shwartzman, off the back of his best finish of the season at Iowa, will be aiming to finish the street course portion of his debut season on a strong note.

PIERS PHILLIPS - CEO, PREMA Racing INDYCAR

"Toronto is a classic street course – tight, technical and completely unforgiving. There is very little room for error between the walls, and it demands a lot from the car and driver. This is also the fourth race in a run of five, which makes it even tougher for the whole team. We’ve learnt a lot from the other street courses this season, so we will put all of that together to aim for a good result in the final one this year."
