The PREMA Racing Formula 2 operation is moving from the UK to Belgium this weekend as it approaches round 9 of 2025 at the mighty Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. The venue is a staple of the current calendar, not only in terms of image - its history and appeal are known worldwide - but also for the challenges that drivers face while racing there.
The fast corners, ups and downs, and complicated conditions are tricky to master, and, lining up there with two rookie drivers, Gabriele Minì and Sebastian Montoya, the team is aware of the extra efforts that will be needed, and of the external variables that don't completely fall on competitors and can get in the way.
While Montoya is looking to build on an exciting moment for him, with increasingly positive results and three podiums in the last five races, Minì is seeking a deserved rebound after hard luck and challenging race situations have deprived him of many opportunities so far.
For the weekend, Pirelli will provide the teams with the P-Zero Yellow tyres as the prime choice and with two sets of P-Zero Red tyres as the option, in addition to the three sets of wets that are always readily available in case of rain.
Rene Rosin - Team Principal
"Spa is obviously an amazing track, but also a very difficult one for rookies. Knowing that, we have particularly focused on preparations, and we are looking to put them into practice. Weather conditions might be highly variable as usual, so there is plenty that can be decided by making the right judgments in the moment. We are proud of what Sebastian has been able to achieve, and we hope to see Gabriele back as a top contender."
