FIA F3, PREMA set for penultimate round of 2025

R09 Hungaroring - FIA Formula 3 Race Preview

The FIA Formula 3 Championship is set to go back-to-back this weekend. Coming off a troubled Spa-Francorchamps weekend, with only one race completed before rain struck, the series is lining up at one of the most twisty and arguably technical tracks, the Hungaroring outside Budapest, for the penultimate round of the year.

The Hungarian venue has a reputation for being unforgiving, physically tough, and not leaving much room for comebacks, so qualifying well will be essential, even more than usual. Having secured his maiden FIA F3 podium, Ugo Ugochukwu will try to continue his momentum, made of three top-5 finishes in four races, in the same location where he achieved his first FRECA podium last year.

Brando Badoer made positive steps at Spa-Francorchamps, and will also be back to a circuit where he was impressive in Formula Regional in 2024. Noel Leon, who has an equally remarkable record at the venue, is aiming for a rebound after a challenging qualy in Belgium, which jeopardized his efforts.

The tricky circuit will feature a tyre management component, and three sets of Pirelli P-Zero Medium yellow tyres will be supplied for the event.

RENÉ ROSIN - Team Principal

"We have continued to make steps at Spa-Francorchamps. Ugo showed he can be a leading competitor everywhere, and his podium finish really showed that. On the other hand, Noel and Brando also had great potential, but they couldn't fully capitalize on it. They will have another good chance at Hungaroring, where, with such a twisty track, Qualifying will be even more key to the rest of the weekend. It will be the penultimate round of the season, so we want to end it on a high."
