PREMA Racing is set for a complete change of scenery, moving from one of the longest and fastest tracks of the FIA Formula 2 Championship season to the shortest and most technical one, the Hungaroring in Budapest. The Hungarian Grand Prix venue has a relatively tight and flowing layout with few chances for overtaking, and Qualifying tends to be paramount to shaping the outcome of the weekend.
The team lines up with its two proven podium finishers, Sebastian Montoya and Gabriele Minì. The Colombian-American had a positive season but needs to rebound from a tough weekend at Spa-Francorchamps, while the Italian got back to the podium after a few unlucky breaks and hopes to carry the momentum to Hungary and into the summer break.
While the weather was tricky in Spa, Budapest might not be immune to environmental challenges. Tyre wear might come into play on a dry track with the high loads required. Series supplier Pirelli will bring the P-Zero Yellow medium tyres as the Prime choice, and the P-Zero Red soft as the option.
RENÉ ROSIN - Team Principal
"We have shown promising pace with Gabriele at Spa-Francorchamps, although the variables that played out didn't help us, so we are looking forward to finding the same pace even on a different track at Hungaroring. Sebastian struggled a little more, but we are confident he will be repeating his previous positive form in Hungary, and to see both cars in the leading positions to head into the break with positive momentum."
