As the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine went back on track at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, PREMA Racing achieved a podium finish in Race 1 with Freddie Slater, who is still leading the championship on a tiebreaker.
The British racer maximized his potential, going from second place in Race 1 to a hard-fought top-5 finish in Race 2. Slater faced a challenging qualifying 2 session, hampered by some traffic. Starting from the seventh place, he delivered a stunning double pass to P5, gained one more spot, and almost made it to the podium with a late move. He crossed the finish line in P5.
Rashid Al Dhaheri took a points finish in Race 2 in a weekend that didn’t give him the chance to compete for the top-5. The Emirati took P8 in Race 1 and delivered a comeback to P11 in Race 2 after an early setback. Jack Beeton also posted a points finish in a consistent run throughout the weekend.
Joining the team for the first time, Chinese racer Yuanpu Cui delivered a strong debut performance, improving session by session and achieving a positive form with a top-15 in qualifying for Race 2.

"The weekend didn't go as we wanted; we had a few issues already from CT2, which I think compromised a bit the entire weekend. We tried to figure out what it was, and it's something we have to look into for the next round in Hockenheim. We put a good effort in trying to improve, and if we figure out the issue for the I think we can be quite strong and show good performance."
"Not a bad weekend, a lot of damage limitation especially on Sunday. I started on from the pole on Saturday, we had a good one-lap pace. I didn't have a perfect start, that was on me, but we lacked a little bit too much race pace. In Qualifying 2 something went wrong and we were compromised, something we need to work on and make sure it doesn't happen again. The Race was good, I made a bit of a mistake in the last lap, maybe I risked too much, but the pace was good and we made some good and clean overtakes to move forward. We need to make sure we make no more mistakes in the next two. We have the pace, we just need to focus on making everything run smoothly."
"I won here last year in F4 so I had great expectations. The pace in practice was quite OK and I didn't put the lap together, but we knew we were good. We qualified 10th overall and fifth in group for Race 1. We didn't have the best start but we made a few overtakes to get back to P9. On Sunday, it rained a lot for qualifying and we were struggling with the grip. It was very slippery but pulled an okay lap, ending up fifth in group and tenth on the grid again. I started tenth but made a small mistake in the last corner on a greasy track. I also lost three spots when another car passed me off the track. Two rounds left, Hockenheim and Monza. Hopefully we can score good points."
"We made some progress and kept learning, improving in every session, although a mistake on my side compromised some positions in the final race. It was a very good learning experience. Thanks a lot to the team for the opportunity."
