With the FIA Formula 2 Championship set for its 2026 finale, PREMA Racing is set for the closing round of the season at Yas Marina, Abu Dhabi, a familiar destination to wrap up a back-to-back Middle Eastern stint. With good memories of the past and good track knowledge, the team is looking to close the season on a high in the Emirates at the state-of-the-art 5.6 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix venue.
Driving the #9 car, Sebastian Montoya is coming from a positive run in Qatar, where he delivered a double top-5 finish and fought for the podium. The Colombian rookie, who sits tenth in the driver championship, has positive memories at the venue in his junior career. However, with a challenging track and in such a competitive environment, challenges will be there right from the start.
Gabriele Minì, who was also victorious at Yas Marina in the past. Driving the #10 car, the Italian has set his sights on a rebound after a tough qualifying session impacted his efforts at Lusail, and is looking to show his full potential to cap off the year.
Tyre management is expected to be a major component, as tyre choice will be on the softer side. The Pirelli P-Zero Yellow Medium tyres were selected as the prime choice, with the Purple SuperSoft as the option.
