PREMA Racing, FIA Formula 2 jump back into action in Miami

R02 Miami - FIA Formula 2 Race Preview

It's finally race time again for PREMA in the FIA Formula 2 Championship. Following an eventful season opener down under in Australia, the team is set to compete for round 2 at another exciting Grand Prix venue: the Miami International Autodrome.

Located around the Miami Hard Rock Stadium, the venue features a 5.41 km layout with 19 corners, and has proven quite technical for drivers, while also offering many eye-catching sights and attractions.

A semi-permanent track, Miami features high-speed corners in Sector 1, and technical, medium- and low-speed corners in Sectors 2 and 3 that call for mechanical stability and traction. Hot weather is expected, which will put thermal stress on the tyres and challenge the drivers physically.

While it will be the first time for F2 in Miami, PREMA Racing already competed there during the 2025 F1 Academy season — though everything will feel almost new again when running the powerful Formula 2 machinery.

The team will once again rely on their competent duo of Sebastian Montoya and Mari Boya. Both the Colombian and the Spaniard showed strong pace in Melbourne but couldn't take full advantage of it. The Aston Martin Aramco Driver Academy member will especially be looking for a rebound after failing to score points in Melbourne.

In addition to Miami, FIA F2 will also be racing in Montreal, Canada, highlighting a strong American presence on the calendar.

Stephen Mitas - Team Principal & CEO
"We are very excited to get back on track with our FIA Formula 2 operation, and to do so at such a spectacular new event as the Miami Grand Prix. We showed strong promise in Melbourne and have been looking forward to Round 2 to continue our work and hopefully reap some rewards. It's going to be an interesting weekend and we are determined to make the most of it."
