PREMA set for Montreal F1 Academy tripleheader

R02 Montreal - F1 Academy Race Preview

Formula 1 Academy returns to Circuit Gilles Villeneuve for round two after a two-month break caused by the missed Jeddah round, with three races across the weekend, the first on Saturday morning.

PREMA arrives with two Shanghai podiums to its name. American Payton Westcott, fourth in the standings, delivered a strong opener and aims to carry that momentum to Montreal's bumpy, demanding layout. Rookie Natalia Granada secured an impressive second place in her debut race and sits seventh in points, hungry for more. Mathilda Paatz, who narrowly missed the points in China, is eager to break through this weekend.

Montreal adds its own challenges — the circuit sits largely unused throughout the year, leaving a green surface and unpredictable conditions that can heavily influence results. PREMA has used the extended break to fine-tune preparations and hit the ground running.

Stephen Mitas - Team Principal & CEO

"It is great to be back competing in F1 Academy on such an iconic and demanding circuit. Canada will naturally present some challenges for our three rookies, but we see that as a genuinely valuable part of their development and we are confident they will rise to it. Shanghai gave us a strong indication of what this group is capable of, and we are lining up to build on that momentum as the season continues to unfold."
