Coming from an extremely successful run in the opening round of the Italian Formula 4 Championship at Misano, PREMA Racing is set to return to the highly competitive Italian Series this weekend at Vallelunga with an expanded lineup of seven cars.
The 4.1-kilometre venue, located only 30 minutes away from Rome, will welcome teams and drivers with its extremely technical layout featuring challenging medium and slow speed corners.
Alp Aksoy is coming to Vallelunga as the championship leader having taken two wins - including one in the Final - at Misano. He is followed by two teammates: Niccolò Maccagnani, who was also a race winner in Round 1, is standing second, while David Cosma rounds out a stunning all-PREMA lockout.
Oleksandr Bondarev achieved a podium finish and two points finishes so far, and the Ukrainian has clearly showed his potential despite some qualifying challenges, so he's expected to be fighting at the front in Round 2. Meanwhile, Christian Costoya and Kingsley Zheng made solid gains throughout the weekend and will contribute to the team's strong competitive level.
Making his Italian F4 debut with the team, Roman Kamyab will be a valuable addition to an already impressive roster. The British racer is stepping into Italian F4 for the first time, but has already shown strong promise in preparation and testing.
Once again, as will be the case for the rest of the season, the high car count will result in a heat format. Drivers will be split into two groups for practice and qualifying, whose results determine the heat race grids. Each group will run two heat races, and the combined standings determine the Sunday Final lineup.

The level on display was genuinely impressive, and we are definitely looking forward to building on that momentum. Roman joins us at an exciting time, and we are confident he will adapt quickly and make his presence felt as the season continues to unfold."
