Two cars fielded by Prema Powerteam ended up onto the podium at the 2013 Zandvoort Formula 3 Masters in Holland. The Italian squad's drivers Alex Lynn and Emil Bernstorff respectively ended up in second and third place. After having qualified in third and fourth on Saturday they got a quick getaway from row 4 and passed Harry Tincknell before starting an hard charge to catch the leading car of pole-sitter Felix Rosenqvist. In an exciting and fast-paced race, Lynn managed to end as the runner-up while Bernstroff left a strong impression as he quickly merged with the team and their work method. At his first race for Prema, he was able to lift the trophy for the third place finisher.
Eddie Cheever also delivered some positive results as he recovered up to 6th place after having started from the 11th position. On the other hand, the day proved tougher than expected for Lucas Auer, who retired on lap 4 due to a contact after rounding out the top-5 in qualifying.
René Rosin – Team Manager
“It's been a great weekend for all our drivers but unfortunately we missed that last bit of performance that could have brought us to win. Lynn delivered a great result as he proved consistent and determined, while at his first race with us, Bernstorff was an excellent surprise. I'm satisfied with Cheever's result as it lays good foundations for the final part of the year, while the only negative regarded Auer, who was involved in a first-turn contact that brought his day to an early end”.
